Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, Split is a proud member of the University Of Split. On the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2021, published on April 21, the University of Split ranked in the first 10 of totally 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as the only Croatian university on the list.
This ranking is UN’s initiative to recognize social and economic impact universities have around the world. The criteria used to ensure a comprehensive and balanced comparison in three broad areas: research, community impact and governance. Times Higher Education developed this type of evaluation because it sees universities as a major driving force in society, institutions that can change society for the better, generate opportunities in their environment, reduce economic inequality, raise environmental awareness and educate the public on the importance of enduring effort on achieving sustainable development.
The University of Split achieved the best results for UN’s Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, then for Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
