Today's economic environment is characterized by ubiquitous globalization processes and dynamic changes which push individuals, companies and economies to adapt if they want to survive in the marketplace. Under such conditions, a study programme that enables students to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for the exploitation of entrepreneurial ideas and managerial engagement is of the utmost importance. This profile of professionals is being taught in the undergraduate university study programme in Business Studies.

With its content, this study programme aims to equip students with the skills to make competent decisions in appropriate orgnaizations. By catering to the needs of future employees with specialized knowledge, this study programme offers different concentrations. With regard to the professional affinity of the students, the university study programme Business Studies, through its six concentrations, offers either the attainment of specialized functional knowledge and skills from different areas of business (Financial Management, IT Management, Marketing, General Management, and Accounting and Auditing) or the horizontal entrepreneurial competencies necessary for creating a start-up venture (Entrepreneurship).

  • passed state matura exam (high school leaving state exams)
    • Croatian Language - higher level
      or Native language for EU citizens
    • English language - higher level
      if english is native language than first foreign language will be taken into account

  • Align business processes of a firm in accordance with the appropriate institutional and regulatory financial framework

  • Review the principles and methods of designing and modeling business information systems
  • Tie technologies and tools to support business processes and business decision-making
  • Develop an effective IT solution for the support of business processes of a firm

Management

  • Determine the strategic position of a firm by applying management methods and techniques
  • Design an organization of a firm in the terms of management, strategy, structure, technology and culture
  • Propose a human resources management system in a firm

Marketing

  • Analyze the key aspects of the business environment and behavior of different customer groups and their impact on the marketing activities of a firm
  • Suggest guidelines for marketing decision-making for a firm
Entrepreneurship
  • Analyze the critical fundamentals of launching and/or developing new venture
  • Develop an entrepreneurial project

Accounting and Auditing

  • Estimate the accounting positions of the financial perspective and performance of a firm
  • Link the accounting information to the reports and conduct an integrated audit of the financial statements
  • Define adequate accounting policies specific to a firm’s business
Future studies: By completing the undergraduate university study program, a student can continue studies at graduate level university programme (upon completion of which he or she will obtain Masters degree) or other graduate programmes at this or other faculty or university at home or abroad, with possible obilgaition to enroll in additional courses arising from the specifics of the different programs as prescribed by the university or faculty acts.
